Dr. Joseph Adekunle Bamidele is a seasoned academic and administrator currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and he is currently the Director of Iloffa Community Study Centre in Kwara state. With a robust career spanning over thirty years in higher education, Dr. Joseph A. Bamidele has dedicated his research and teaching to advancing the frontiers of Public Administration, Intergovernmental Relations, and Local Government Administration within the Nigerian context. A staunch advocate for the accessibility of quality education, Dr. J. A. Bamidele is an expert in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) courseware development, specifically designing frameworks that integrate theory with real-world administrative practice. In his role at NOUN, he has been instrumental in the administration at the Study Centre level, facilitating academic orientation and matriculation processes that bridge the gap between policy and community engagement.

Dr. Bamidele’s research focuses on the intersection of Governance and Security, Fiscal Decentralization and Rrural Development. He has published extensively on Governance and Security and on the impact of the State Joint Local Government Account (SJLGA) on local autonomy and has conducted empirical studies on organizational performance in the Nigerian public sector. An active member and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (CILGPAN), Member, Association of Nigerian Public Administrators (ANPA) and Member, Association of African Scholars (AAS). He frequently consults on governance frameworks aimed at enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery in Nigeria. Areas of Specialization of Dr. Bamidele includes Governance and Security, Public Administration, Public Financial Management, Revenue allocation, fiscal policy, budget implementation and Local Government Studies in Nigeria rural development and grassroots governance.

​Key Academic Contributions: Courseware Development: Lead developer for PAD 354: Manpower Planning and Administration, PAD 328: Community Development and Social Change and PAD 410: Globalization and National Policies, ensuring comprehensive content delivery for the NOUN undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

​Administrative Leadership:  He has served as Centre Director, overseeing student matriculation, orientation, and Study Centre operations. He has published many papers and articles in various Local and International Journals.
